23 years

Yesterday, on January 11th 2016 I turned 23. This is the first birthday that I can remember that I celebrated in Paris, in the city I was born in on January 11th, 1993 at 7:25pm. It was a very simple day as I had an exam the next day.

I woke up, made cookies, watched Netflix, got my nails done, went to the building where I was born in. I was born at home. I then, came home, made myself a cake, relaxed, watched One Tree Hill and studied.

A lot of people wished me happy birthday. A lot of friends and family. In the family, my father wished me happy birthday, Sue texted me and we face timed for 5 minutes, Harley wrote on my Facebook, “Happy Birthday Flora!!! I want to take advantage of your birthday to celebrate you and reflect on your life and evolution from girl to young woman. Every year you become a deeper and more complete version of yourself. Last year, moving to Paris and starting at the Sorbonne were a huge accomplishments. I hope that this new year brings you more growth and new adventures, love and joy. I am very proud of who you are becoming. All my love, H” Hearing that he is proud of me made me so happy because I have always wanted to make him proud of me because of how he raised me. Eli wrote me an email.

I feel so lucky to have so many people who love me and take care of me. So many great friends. I have an amazing life and it got better last year when I decided to move to Paris and all my dreams came true.
