Big News!

So, a lot has happened within this past month. So, next month I am done with my undergrad education and I get my BA in sociologie. I was going to start my grad school to get my masters in education and was going to continue to do this in France. That is not happening exactly how I planned.

I am leaving France and going to Haiti as I was offered my first teaching job. I was already going to go Haiti and spend the summer there. For months, all I could think about was being in Haiti and living there and so, I decided to just go for it. I asked the school that I was planning on interning with during the summer if I could continue working with them for the year and before I knew it, I had an actual paying teaching job. It is a dream come true and I can not believe how lucky I am. This is exactly what I needed.

I do plan on getting my masters in education, but I will do this in New York at Hunter College so that I can also start acting again.

I am so excited to be going to Haiti and actually living there and working with kids. I will be making a real difference and finally feel like I am doing something that matters. I am so beyond happy. All I can think about is being there in a little more than a month and living the paradise type life, being a teacher and being happy.

Congrats! Working with children can be rewarding but very challenging. Knowing that you want to help every child that you come in contact with and might not be able to do is just one of the challenges but the smiles and joy (even when they go through hardships) far outweigh anything else.
